About

1 Simple Seed began in 2020, inspired by the wildflower fields of Colorado—and a quiet idea that had been growing in my heart for a while. After more than 30 years as a nurse, I’ve spent my life caring for people. And like so many things in life, this little seed of an idea started through connection.
For a few years, I had the privilege of working on and off with one patient who became much more than that—she became a friend. Over time, our conversations would wander from life to loss, to joy, creativity, and the things we were passionate about. Those talks slowly planted the idea that maybe I could create something small, meaningful, and rooted in kindness—something that could keep growing even after it was given away.
That seed of thought became 1 Simple Seed—a line of plantable greeting cards that brings together my love for watercolor painting, the healing power of connection, and a deep respect for the earth.
Every card is made with care in small batches, using wildflower seed paper handmade in Nepal. The women who make this paper aren’t professional artisans—they’re everyday women working hard to support their families. Fair Trade practices help ensure their work brings dignity and opportunity, and I’m proud that 1 Simple Seed can play a small part in that.
The design on each card is my own original watercolor—painted from moments of stillness, inspired by the quiet beauty of nature. Every card is hand-scored, cut, and paired with a recycled envelope. We package and ship without plastic, because our commitment to sustainability runs through every part of what we do.
When you send a 1 Simple Seed card, you’re sending more than a message. You’re sending care, thoughtfulness, and a little patch of future wildflowers. You’re helping pollinators thrive. Most of all, you’re reminding someone that they matter.
Thank you for being part of this journey. I’m so glad you’re here!
